Beyond the Interface

Reframed a chronic audit-evidence failure rate from a UI problem into a trust problem, and shipped the platform-level fix.

Compliance teams at large companies depend on people outside the audit team, in HR, IT, and Finance, to submit sensitive evidence on deadline. A meaningful share never did, and leadership assumed the fix was a cleaner interface.

I treated that as a hypothesis, not a brief. Co-leading research with our PM, we found the real barrier wasn't usability, it was trust: recipients didn't recognize the request, some assumed it was phishing, and the deadline was ambiguous. So instead of redesigning a screen, we shipped platform-level infrastructure, an orchestration engine and a trusted-channel notification system, that fixed the behavior, not just the UI.
